Creating 'you are here' navigation trails
What's related > Top level and second level pages
In order to maintain the correct set of links that appear on the page after processing, always copy an existing page, other than a default page, from the folder in which you want the new page to be saved. (A default page is one that lists the contents of the folder and is often named Default.htm - this is also the name of your departmental home page.)
By copying and pasting an existing page within the folder you are also including hidden information that will build the 'You are here' set of links in the published page.
Once you have copied a page you need to follow these steps:
- Rename the page and save it
- Delete the existing text
- Add new text. If copying from Word or another source, always use 'paste special' to paste your text into FrontPage. This stops incorrect formatting from being copied across
- Set page title (in Page Properties)
If you want to create a new sub-folder, create the pages and then let us know. We will include the necessary information in your pages so that they process correctly.
