LSE IDEAS is pleased to host the Mladena and Dianko Sotirov Visiting Fellowship thanks to the generous endowment by Mrs Mladena Sotirov.
Sotirov Fellows study Bulgaria and the Balkan region, working to understand its recent history, international affairs, the challenges it faces today and the prospects of tomorrow.
The Visiting Fellowship amounts to £7,300 and covers a one to two-month research stay in London.
It is intended primarily, but not exclusively, for scholars in the early stages of their career, namely doctoral candidates and post-doctoral fellows whose work and research focuses primarily on a topic related to the history of international affairs of Bulgaria and the Balkans in the twentieth century. Exceptionally, research of distinct quality focused on current issues may also be taken into consideration.
All applicants should submit (in English):
- CV
- Cover letter of 1,500 words setting out their current research and how it will benefit from receiving a LSE Fellowship
- Two letters of academic recommendation (one of which must be from the applicant's thesis supervisor, if the applicant is a PhD student).
Applications should be submitted by email to: Dr Emilia Knight e.knight@lse.ac.uk by the application deadline.
The deadline for applications is 29 May 2023.
