At the beginning of June, LSE IDEAS hosted our annual Alumni Policy Weekend for alumni of LSE IDEAS's Executive MSc in International Strategy and Diplomacy programme and friends to connect with fellow alumni, faculty and practitioners over a day of lively debate and discussions.
LSE IDEAS Director, Professor Michael Cox, gave an opening speech on turbulence and change in the post-Cold War world. LSE IDEAS Director, Professor Christopher Coker, subsequently spoke on the rise of the civilisational state, discussing China, Russia, the Islamic Caliphate, and related challenges to the liberal world order. Additional speakers at the Alumni Policy Weekend included Professor Roberta Guerrina, Professor Lutfey Siddiqi, and Dr. Cherry Yu, who spoke on globalisation and its discontents, and Professor Linda Yueh, who spoke on the concept of Global Britain.
