About

Nina Koistinen is a doctoral researcher at the Centre for Climate Change, Energy and Environmental Law, at the University of Eastern Finland. Her research is conducted within the context of the Horizon Europe RETOOL project and examines the role of the European Union (EU) courts in democratic governance for the climate transition.

Background

Nina holds a Master of International and Comparative Law (MICL) from the University of Eastern Finland, having majored in Environmental and Climate Change Law, and a Bachelor of Law and French (BCLF) from University College Cork, Ireland. Her research interests include climate litigation, the human rights-climate nexus, procedural environmental rights, and EU climate policy.
