Colin Baines

Colin is currently responsible for leading ESG and net zero stewardship at Border to Coast Pension Partnership. He has over 20 years’ experience covering a range of sustainable finance, ESG and climate policy, stewardship, and advocacy.
Colin was an advisory group member to the LSE Grantham Research Institute’s ‘Financing a Just Transition’ programme and is now supporting the work of the Just Transition Finance Lab.
Background
Before joining Border to Coast, Colin was responsible for RI and ESG policy and stewardship at Friends Provident Foundation, and ethical policy, engagement, and campaigns at the Co-operative Bank and Co-operative Asset Management.
He has sat on advisory groups to the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, University of Manchester, Birkbeck College, University of London, Impact Investing Institute, and DECC, and is a member of the Impact and Investment Committee and former NED at Snowball Impact Management.
