Daniela is a PhD candidate at the LSE’s European Institute. Her research investigates the interaction between EU actors and civil society and its role in shaping the policy framework that regulates asylum in the European Union. With a background in politics and migration policy, her broader academic interests include EU institutions and democracy and legitimacy in the EU.
Daniela holds an MSc in International Migration and Public Policy from the LSE and a BSc in International Affairs (major) and Philosophy (minor) from John Cabot University (Rome, Italy). Before joining the European Institute for her PhD, she worked as a trainee in the LIBE Committee of the European Parliament and volunteered with an NGO providing legal aid and assistance to refugees in Rome.
