Migration dynamics have always fascinated me, and I've actively participated in volunteer projects supporting refugees and migrants in various settings. Choosing to pursue my studies at LSE was a natural step in my journey to turn this passion into a fulfilling career. The European Institute stood out to me because of its emphasis on public policy. I firmly believe that a deep understanding of policymaking is essential for making a meaningful impact in the field.
At LSE, in addition to engaging lectures, the public policy focus was enriched also by weekly seminars and workshops with EU and policymaking experts. These interactive sessions provided valuable insights and fostered dynamic discussions, enhancing the learning experience throughout the academic year.
After completing my MSc in International Migration and Public Policy, I was thrilled to be selected as a Blue Book Trainee at the European Commission, DG Migration and Home Affairs. It was an eye-opening experience, providing me with firsthand exposure to European policymaking. Witnessing the negotiations surrounding the New Pact of Migration and Asylum gave me valuable insights into EU diplomatic processes and reinforced my dedication to this field.
Now, as I embark on a new journey at Plan International EU Liaison Office in Brussels, I will have the opportunity to actively participate in advocacy efforts to advance the rights of children and young girls in emergency situations. LSE played a critical role in supporting me throughout this journey and laying the foundation for my career in Brussels, at the heart of policymaking processes.
