Prepare to Study

Key resources to help you prepare for your MSc

 Programme Regulations

Every MSc programme at LSE has a set of 'Programme Regulations', which outline the courses that you are permitted to take. Some courses will be compulsory for your programme, or you may be permitted to choose from a list of required or suggested options. Unless your regulations specifically state that you are able to take a course from outside the regulations with permission, then you are expected to only choose courses listed in your Programme Regulations.

The Programme Regulations for your year of study will be published online in mid-August 2024. We will include a link to each set of regulations here once they are live. Please make sure that you are looking at the right regulations (i.e. the ones we link to here) because they change slightly each year.

This section will be updated in mid-August 2024.

  • MSc Political Economy of Europe
  • MSc European and International Politics and Policy
  • MSc International Migration and Public Policy
  • MSc Culture and Conflict in a Global Europe
  • LSE-Bocconi Double Degree in European and International Public Policy and Politics

  • LSE-Fudan Double Degree in the Global Political Economy of China and Europe
  • LSE-Sciences Po Double Degree in European Studies

LSE Calendar

The LSE Calendar is the resource which brings together all regulations relating to students and their study. Please ensure you take some time to read the School and Academic Regulations.

Pre-Arrival Packs

Once your Programme Regulations are live, we will also share Pre-Arrival Packs for each programme. These packs include a letter from your programme director, suggested preliminary reading, useful resources, and your Welcome Week schedule. They will be uploaded in mid-August 2024.

European Institute MSc Handbook

The MSc Handbook provides information about the department, assessments, course selection, and key information from LSE. It will uploaded here in late August 2024.

European Institute MSc Programmes Information Moodle

This Moodle page will contain all the key information you need related to your studies, academic work, sources of support and other essential resources. You will need an LSE IT account to access it.
