Welcome 2024 activities for BSc Economics students (23-27 September):

See the schedule for Year 1 undergraduate students Welcome events below. 

Tuesday 24 September

Welcome Talk

12.15pm-1.15pm | CBG Auditorium, Centre Building (CBG)

Meet our department staff members and hear more about what to expect during your course.

Afternoon Tea

3pm-4pm | Lower ground floor area of Cheng Kin Ku Building (CKK)

After your Welcome Talk, unwind with your cohort and join our Department of Economics community for light refreshments.

Course choice session

4pm-6pm | Sheikh Zayed Theatre, Cheng Kin Ku Building (CKK)

Head towards the Sheikh Zayed Theatre (right next to the Lower ground floor area of CKK) to learn about the course selection process and key factors to consider when selecting your course choices.

Thursday 26 September

Treasure Hunt

10am-1pm | Location TBC (Details about the exact timings and logistics will be shared with you closer to the time via email)

A trail of clues will lead you and fellow students around the LSE campus and beyond. You will need a sharp mind, great teamwork and quick feet to find the treasure!

Thursday 26 September (Evening)

Social darts at Flight Club Bloomsbury

5pm-9pm | Flight Club Bloomsbury

Come along for a laid-back evening of social darts and an opportunity to get acquainted with your fellow students. This event is free to attend and exclusively for incoming students on the BSc Economics programme.

You will need to bring your LSE Student ID card and proof of age (e.g. driver’s license, passport, national ID card) to gain entry.

Friday 27 September

Indoor roller skating at Flipper's London

3pm-6pm | Flipper's London, White City

Glide into a social evening of roller skating with your cohort - we'll have canapes and a drink waiting for you. After food, you'll step onto the roller rink accompanied by a live DJ spinning some mood-boosting hits all evening!

You will need to bring your LSE Student ID card and proof of age (e.g. driver’s license, passport, national ID card) to gain entry.

Connect with your cohort

Join our Student Hub group to interact with fellow students in your cohort when you arrive on campus. Download the app to receive tips about preparing for your first term and updates about your programme. You can also use Student Hub as a web app if you prefer.

Once you have accepted your offer and received your LSE log-in credentials, you will be able to join our Student Hub group for incoming BSc Economics students in four easy steps:

  • Register to access the School's Student Hub app using your LSE username and password
  • Search for the "LSE Department of Economics Undergraduate 2024/25" group on the Student Hub
  • Send a request to join the group
  • Wait for your request to be approved by a member of our BSc programmes team
