Wei is a PhD student in the Department of Economics. His research interests are the interaction between education and macroeconomy, and how such interaction varies across different stages of development. His previous work studied the role of educational inequality in explaining productivity growth. His current work focuses on the impacts of education expansion on labour market development and economic growth in developing countries.
He holds an MSc in Economics from the LSE, an MA in International and Development Economics from the ANU, and a BSc in Financial Engineering from the SWUFE.
