Mitch is a PhD Economics student in the Department of Economics. His research interests include Econometric Theory, Search and Matching, Panel Data, and Energy Economics.
Prior to joining the programme, Mitch worked as an economic consultant, advising regulators, NGOs and private companies on issues including regulated finance, energy market design and competition economics. Before that he worked as a labour economist for the Australian Department of Education, Skills, and Employment.
He holds a Bachelor of Finance, Economics and Statistics with Honours and a Bachelor of Statistics with Honours, both from the Australian National University. He also undertook a year of independent research in both economics and statistics, modelling the interactions between investors and entrepreneurs, and developing a new method to analyse panel data.
