Charlie is a PhD candidate in the Department of Economics. His primary interests are empirical macroeconomics: at the moment he is working on projects relating to consumption habits, hysteresis and the determination of interest rates. Trying to use microdata to learn about macro phenomena is a common theme. He is also very interested in history.
Prior to LSE, Charlie did a BA in History and Economics at Oxford, an MSc in Economics at UCL, and worked for several years in statistics and monetary policy at the Bank of England.
