Bryan W Roberts is a philosopher of physics, Professor of Philosophy of Science, and a philosophy of physics project leader at the Centre for Philosophy of Natural and Social Sciences (CPNSS) at the London School of Economics. He studies big questions that fill one with wonder about the world: the nature of space and time, symmetry, the interpretation of quantum theory, and the limits of human understanding and experience. His latest research is about the philosophy and foundations of black hole thermodynamics, a science that ties together all the main pillars of physics. He is also a leadership committee member of Spectrum, the LGBTQIA+ staff network at the LSE. His book Reversing the Arrow of Time (2022 Cambridge University Press) is about the physical origin of time's arrow, and has been made Open Access and freely available to download online.
