About me

Lucy joined CPEC in August 2019, working across CPEC and NIHR SSCR to communicate research activity and develop research impact and knowledge exchange processes.

Lucy has previously worked at Alzheimer’s Society and NSPCC in communications and editorial roles. Here she developed her interest and skills in communicating complex ideas about social care to a range of audiences to create impact and engagement.

While studying for her History degree (BA Hons) at King’s College London, Lucy volunteered as a frontline worker with Mind and in a day centre for people living with dementia. These roles, and her position on the youth board for Tender (a charity educating young people about relationship abuse), fuelled her passion for applying her skills to social care issues.

Day-to-day, Lucy promotes the research unit’s findings by writing press releases, copy for the CPEC and SSCR websites, and social media content. She also coordinates the Enabling Research in Care Homes (ENRiCH) blog, commissioning and editing blog posts with people involved in research in care homes.
