Net Supatravanij

Net Supatravanij is a trailblazer when it comes to promoting gender equality. She is the co-founder of ila Generation, a social enterprise that has won numerous accolades for its innovative and human-centred approach to solving issues from the bottom up and triggering social change. Net’s vision for ila is to make gender equality a standard not a privilege.

After graduating from NYU with a Communication and Media Studies degree in 2016 and beginning a career in advertising, she experienced a sense of disconnection as she wasn’t making meaningful social impact with her work. This led her to pursue a master’s degree in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship from LSE in 2018 where she met her cofounder, Julie Sane-Pezet. The two bonded over their shared passion for eliminating gender-based violence, which eventually led to the formation of ila Generation in October 2018.

At ila, Net and her team implement change by working with businesses to create more inclusive workplaces. One way they achieve this is through their advisory services in which ila helps companies audit, design and train their employees. Additionally, ila has created ALLY, an app that turns local venues into safe spaces and bystanders into allies for survivors of gender-based violence.

Since its inception, ila Generation has collaborated with UN Women, Unilever, WeWork, Adidas and Google. In 2022, Net was recognised by UN Women as the Youth Leadership recipient, a testament to her outstanding work at ila Generation.
