Four decades have altered management accounting practices extensively. The pace and types of change affecting organisations is now accelerating and the next decade may bring a similar level of impact. Technology, regulation, competitive forces and new management priorities, including improved management control systems and the need for better personal development of accountants, will drive through new changes in the field.
