British multiculturalism emerged around racial rather than religious categories. As a result, Muslims have traditionally been excluded from dominant understandings of multiculturalism. In this paper, I explored the ways in which the resistance of British Muslims challenges these understandings through the case of actor and rapper Riz Ahmed.
