PhD Topic: Social costs and support in crossing occupational boundaries
PhD Supervisors: Dr Ilka Gleibs and Dr Jennifer Sheehy-Skeffington
Krittika’s PhD research investigates how social systems and signals either facilitate or impede occupational mobility across identity boundaries, with a particular focus on caste identities. Her work integrates perspectives from social identity theory, political psychology and vocational behaviour to understand the social psychological mechanisms that shape fluidity in career choices. Prior to LSE, Krittika worked as an Engagement Director with the Busara Center for Behavioral Economics, where she designed and tested behavioural interventions for development programs across Eastern and Southern Africa and South Asia. She also applied behavioural design to development-focused crowdsourcing technology in India. Krittika holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Warwick and an MSc in Organisational Behaviour from LSE.
