LSE Generate has been recognised as the top university start-up hub in the UK in the latest rankings by the Financial Times, Statista, and Sifted.

The 2025 edition of Europe’s Leading Start-up Hubs places LSE Generate among the continent’s most influential entrepreneurial ecosystems, reinforcing its reputation as a driving force for innovation and impact-driven business.

The ranking, which evaluates 150 start-up hubs across Europe based on insights from alumni, investors, entrepreneurs, and academics, highlights LSE Generate’s role in fostering high-potential ventures. The UK leads the list with 29 hubs featured, demonstrating London’s strong position in the European start-up landscape.

Through its incubator, accelerator programmes, funding initiatives, and global network, LSE Generate has cultivated a thriving ecosystem for founders at all stages of their entrepreneurial journey.

This recognition underscores the strength of LSE Generate’s community-led approach, blending academic excellence with practical business support. Sustaining Momentum in 2025 and Beyond

As LSE Generate continues to expand its offerings—through partnerships with OakNorth and LSE’s new Global School of Sustainability as well as a range of investors, policymakers, and corporate partners—it remains committed to equipping founders with the resources needed to build resilient, high-impact businesses.

LSE Generate’s ranking in the FT, Statista, and Sifted list is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit of LSE’s students and alumni and the University’s vision for shaping the future of business.

LJ Silverman, Head of LSE Generate, emphasised the importance of collaboration beyond traditional start-up circles. She said:

“Entrepreneurship cannot exist in a silo - its strength lies in collaboration. At LSE Generate, we go the extra mile, not just for our founders but for the wider entrepreneurial ecosystem. We work internationally with our alumni founders, we engage with secondary schools up and down the country, and we are deeply embedded in our local community. The impact of entrepreneurship extends far beyond individual ventures; it is about fostering a mindset of innovation that creates ripple effects across industries, societies, and borders.”
