LSE Generate, the School’s home for entrepreneurship, celebrated their first global achievement this week, winning the Entrepreneurship and Innovation team of the year at the Triple E awards in Barcelona.

The accolade recognises the team’s exceptional achievements and contributions in the realm of entrepreneurship and innovation and as trailblazers in the field.

Their entry highlighted LSE Generate’s radical approach to mentorship; their civic engagement programmes with national and international schools focussed on enterprise skills development; support for underrepresented founders; and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) driven acceleration programme, GAP.

The award was presented to the team at a ceremony in Barcelona’s La Salle University, a gathering of over 100 universities from around the world.  Selected from a pool of contenders from universities and institutions across the globe, the team's international vision, groundbreaking ideas around entrepreneurial education, and unwavering dedication to support mission-driven start-ups set them apart as the ultimate victors.

LJ Silverman, Head of LSE Generate, commented: “As a programme that supports entrepreneurs across the world, winning an international prize means so much to us.

“The fact that this is a team prize is also significant; I am so proud of the collaborative environment that my team tries so very hard to model to our student innovators day-in, day-out and the way that they exemplify the transformative power of an entrepreneurial mindset, be that in our coworking space, at one our international hubs or in a virtual setting.

“Community is everything to us, and it is our belief that belonging to a supportive group of like-minded individuals increases the chance of start-up success and overall founder wellbeing.”

LSE Generate is the School’s entrepreneurship centre where budding entrepreneurs are equipped with the tools and knowledge to transform their ideas into real-world ventures.

The team's multifaceted approach to entrepreneurship education, which encompasses experiential learning, industry partnerships, funding competitions and mentorship opportunities also nurtures an ecosystem that encourages creativity, risk-taking, and collaboration. It is fast-becoming a driving force in shaping the future of entrepreneurship education on a global scale.
