The central aim of this research was to critically look at the status, models and new challenges of governance across countries in a comparative perspective and what implications they have for the issues and forces that are likely to impact on governance at the global scale.
The First Author's Workshop was held at TISS in Mumbai on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th April 2012. The workshop was an opportunity to bring together partners working on issues related to ‘Governance and the Governed’ for a proposed volume on Governance.
An edited book by Ruth Kattumuri with Madhushree Sekher and S. Parasuraman titled Governance and Governed has been published. This book provides a multi-country perspective on state, society and development and examines the challenges of governance in Brazil, India, China and South Africa.
