I am originally from Catania, Sicily. I hold both a bachelor and a master degree in History from Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna. Throughout my academic journey, my scholarly concerns were mostly focused on American History and History of Political Thought. This has led to my interest in the Black Radical Tradition, with a particular focus on African American women’s anticarceral activism. I have been awarded an AHRC LAHP Studentship and I am now a full-time MPhil/PhD candidate.
My PhD topic: The origins of Black feminist prison abolitionism from 1960s to modern developments of Abolition Feminism.
Supervisor: Dr Imaobong Umoren
