A.G. Leventis Research Innovation Programme on Cyprus

A.G. Leventis Research Innovation Programme on Cyprus In 2019 the Hellenic Observatory launched a new research initiative with a fresh programme of research calls focusing on Cyprus.

With a new generous donation, a research fund has been established dedicated to innovative research on issues of contemporary academic and policy-relevant significance within the social sciences on Cyprus. We would like to record our sincere gratitude to the A.G. Leventis Foundation for their generosity and support in the Hellenic Observatory’s mission.

Since 2019, the programme has been inviting the submission of project proposals with the purpose of developing and supporting high-quality academic and policy-related research and publications within the social sciences on Cyprus on an annual basis. The programme has also created opportunities fostering co-operation between the relevant academic communities of Cyprus and the UK and beyond.

To achieve a diversity and breadth of topics and to gain from the highest level of academic support, expertise and standards a Research Advisory Group has been established comprising of senior academic colleagues (LSE & non-LSE). As such, the purpose of the Research Advisory Group is to (1) suggest topical themes for the research calls, (2) to offer advice in the selection process by reviewing submitted research proposals (3) to peer review the final research reports.
