About me

Apostolis Philippopoulos is a Professor Emeritus of Economics in the Department of Economics at the Athens University of Economics and Business. He holds a BSc in Economics (National University of Athens), an MSc in Economics (Athens School of Economics and Business) and a PhD in Economics (Birkbeck College, University of London). He has previously taught at the University of Essex (1989-1996). He has also been visiting professor at the Universities of Bern and Glasgow. He is a research fellow at CESifo, Munich. He has published around 50 papers in academic journals in the area of macroeconomic theory and policy. He is also the editor of “Public Sector Economics and the Need for Reforms”, published by MIT Press and CESifo.
