25 Years of HO
Professor Nicos Mouzelis was among the LSE academics who launched a campaign
to establish a Chair on Contemporary Greece, that led to the establishment of the Observatory.
Prof Elias Mossialos was also one of the LSE academics who launched a campaign
to establish the Chair that led to the establishment of the Observatory.
Professor Loukas Tsoukalis
was the first holder of the Eleftherios Venizelos Chair in Contemporary Greek Studies (1998- 2001).
Cowdray House
hosted the Observatory's offices from its establishment until 2019.

Ismini Demades joined the Observatory in 2007

Professor Kevin Featherstone
was bestowed ‘Commander, Order of the Phoenix of the Hellenic Republic’ on 17 September 2013.
Katerina Glyniadaki received the
2015-2019 PhD scholarship from the Hellenic Observatory.
The ‘Hellenic Observatory PhD Symposium on Contemporary Greece and Cyprus’
