Trio Concept

Hosted by the LSE Arts Lunchtime Concert Series

Shaw Library, 6th floor, Old Building

Trio Concept was founded in 2013 by Lorenzo Nguyen, Edoardo Grieco and Francesco Massimino while studying at the Conservatory of Music ‘G.Verdi’ of Turin.

In October 2024, the ensemble decided to change its original name—from Trio Chagall to Trio Concept—to emphasize the cohesion of an artistic journey spanning over a decade, centered on the idea of the trio as the core of their musical activity and a constant source of creative inspiration.

This passionate Italian ensemble has gone on to win several important international accolades and prizes. These include in the First Prize at the Schoenfeld International String Competition of Harbin in China in 2023, and after having been selected as the ensemble in residence for the 31st Verbier Festival in 2024, they were awarded the Prix Paternot - the highest recognition of the Verbier Festival Academy.

Trio Concept were winners at the YCAT international auditions at Wigmore Hall in London in June 2023, joining the roster of esteemed young artists. Furthermore, the Trio Concept was recently announced as an ‘ECHO Rising Star’ for the 2025/2026 season, a recognition which will see them embark on an international tour of venues participating in the ECHO program, including prestigious halls such as Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, Philharmonie de Paris, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and Konzerthaus Dortmund.

Performance to include:

Haydn - Piano Trio No. 43 in C major, Hob.XV.27
Schumann - Piano Trio No. 1 in D Minor, Op.63

The next lunchtime concert is on Thursday 7 November and will be performed by Sarah Williamson (clarinet) and Sam Haywood (piano).

Join the LSE Choir and Orchestra on Tuesday 10 December for the LSE Christmas Concert in the beautiful surroundings of St Clement Danes Church.
