Winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year Competition at the age of 16, Melda has received universal critical praise for her recent debut album of Chopin works.
Since BBC Young Musician, Lara Melda (@LaraMelda) has performed with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and made her BBC Proms and Royal Albert Hall debut in 2018, performing with the BBC Concert Orchestra and conductor Andrew Gourlay. She has also performed concertos with the Britten Sinfonia, Royal Northern Sinfonia, Aurora Orchestra, English Sinfonia, and toured with the National Youth Orchestra of New Zealand.
