Join us for our first LSE Chill of the academic year, featuring:

6-6.15pm   Sohum & Nikita

Nikita is a semi-professional vocal artist and an MSc student at the LSE. She performs at gigs such as weddings, parties and concerts. Sohum is a 2nd year BSc Economic History with Economics student and the ex-president of the Music Society at LSESU. Sohum is particularly interested in exploring how Eastern and Western music can be brought together closer in terms of fusion music. 

6.25-6.40pm   Pooja

Pooja has been writing music since she was 13 years old. For her “music has never been just a hobby, and performing helps her to remember how much she loves expressing herself via art”. She plays a mix of jazz/pop, mainly on acoustic guitar; and at LSE CHILL she will be playing her most recent songs.

6.55-7.20pm   Bryan Chua

Bryan is Singaporean singer-songwriter, finding his sound with his guitar and loop pedal. His relatable originals are often based on his life or the lives of those around him. In February 2017, Bryan released his debut single ‘Artist’ on all major digital platforms. His songs surround the theme of mental health, an issue Bryan is very passionate for.

7.35-8pm        Hanger

Hanger is a dream pop/shoegaze project started last year by childhood friends Juliyan Somasundram (LSE), Redzlan Nur Jazlan (Kings College London) and James King (Leiden University) to promote a greater appreciation of music as a means of creative expression, predominant in their home country, Malaysia. They will be releasing their first album by this year.

LSE chill is a free performance night for LSE staff and students hosted by LSE Arts at Cafe 54, New Academic Building, on the last Friday of every month (in term time). 

Not a performer? Come along and enjoy the free night of live music with limited free drinks and snacks.

Just economics and politics? Think again.  While LSE does not teach arts or music, there is a vibrant cultural side to the School - from weekly free music concerts in the Shaw Library, and an LSE orchestra and choir with their own professional conductors, various film, art and photographic student societies, the annual LSE photo prize competition, the LSE Literary Festival and artist-in-residence projects.
