The Department of Economic History offers five MSc programmes lasting one year full-time or two years part-time, designed for students who have studied Economic History or another social science at undergraduate degree level. The wide range of courses, combined with the compulsory dissertation, enables students to compile a programme to meet their particular requirements.

MSc Support Team

A team of academic and profesional services staff is here to advise and support our students throughout their studies in our Department.

  • Oli Harrison | MSc Programmes Officer | o.harrison1@lse.ac.uk | SAR 3.03
    Oli is the main point of contact for all administrative queries relating to your studies, the Department, and your wider experience and interaction at LSE. He can advise on matters such as course selection, programme interuption, wellbeing support and more.
  • Darren Townsend | Assessment and Regulation Officer | d.a.townsend@lse.ac.uk | SAR 3.04
    Darren can assist students with queries about their submissions and marks. All extension request forms for Economic History courses should be emailed to Darren. Deferral and Exenuating Circumstances requests should be submitted directly to the SSC.
  • Professor Olivier Accominotti | MSc Programmes Director | o.accominotti@lse.ac.uk | SAR 5.14
    Olivier is responsible for the academic leadership of our MSc programmes and plays a key role in manging the several dissertation courses in the Department. Olivier offers regular office hours during term time and can also be contacted by email.

    As a Safe Contact Jennie is trained to offer a confidential 'signposting' service for staff and students who have previously or are currently experiencing some form of bullying or harassment.

  • Dr Paul Horsler | Department Librarian | p.n.horsler@lse.ac.uk
    Paul provides individual research consultations for students and staff to help them with finding information, using library resources effectively with particular reference to datasets and historical sources and using the reference management software, Endnote.

Department Moodle Pages

The  MSc Information Moodle Page contains useful information related to your studies. Here you will also find the form to book the private room in the Economic History Common Room for quiet independent or group study.

The Economic History MSc Dissertation Page is where you will find all information related to the different dissertation courses, including lecture recordings and submission portals.

LSE Careers Service

The Department of Economic History has a dedicated careers liasion who works to tailor events and workshops four our students. These are circulated via email throughout the academic year.

The LSE Careers Service also offers an open programme of events as well as one-to-one appointments designed to help you suceed.
