LSE Cities Ed Charlton will be joining a Johannesburg Institute for Advanced Study discussion panel on 'Sounding Place and Self', the event draws together a group of creative and scholarly thinkers to explore how place and personal identity are co-constituted through the way humans sound themselves. The panellists consider how speaking, sounding voices are represented in a range of literary examples and formats, and how these representations reflect sounding as a self and place-making practice.
