Dr Insa Koch is Associate Professor of Law and Anthropology at LSE Law School. Her research focuses on democracy, populism, the criminal justice system, welfare changes and class. Her recent book, Personalizing the State: an anthropology of law, politics and welfare in austerity Britain, won the 2020 book award for early career researchers by the Socio-Legal Studies Association.
