Savvas Verdis

Savvas helps city leaders brainstorm through some of the world's greatest urban challenges. A veteran educator, he has been teaching at the London School of Economics for over 20 years and was recently voted in Apolitical’s 100 Most Influential Academics in Government.

At LSE, Savvas is a Senior Lecturer in Practice at the School of Public Policy and LSE Cities and the co-Director of the Executive Masters in Cities, which he co-founded with Philipp Rode. He has helped bring the practice of values based campaigning for systems change to the school's undergraduate curriculum via the LSE100, LSE Laidlaw and LSE LIFE programmes. Over the last decade he has also worked with over 500 graduate students on a case method led course on the economic and political analysis of urban projects.

He has consulted numerous city and national governments on their infrastructure strategies in countries such as Australia, Brazil, Ethiopia, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia and Turkey. From 2009 to 2012, he was founder and CEO of Property Analytics, an algorithm-based property rating website that ranked residential properties in London and New York. He received his PhD from Cambridge University in 2007.
