Academics and policy-makers attending LSE-Fudan Research Centre launch event.
LSE and Fudan University have opened the LSE-Fudan Research Centre for Global Public Policy in Shanghai, China.
The LSE-Fudan Research Centre will support collaborative research on global public policy, generating world-class output with international academic and social impact. The centre in Shanghai is supported by the LSE-Fudan Global Public Policy Hub based in London, hosted at the School of Public Policy at LSE.
The opening ceremony for the LSE-Fudan Centre took place at the annual Shanghai Forum with Fudan President Professor Xu Ningsheng and a number of LSE academics. Over 200 LSE alumni attended talks at the event from Dr Keyu Jin of the Department of Economics, and Dr Tim Hildebrandt of the Department of Social Policy.
Dr Alvaro Mendez of the Department of International Relations launched a new book with Fudan faculty members Zheng Yu and Jing Yijia, titled New Development Assistance: Emerging Economies and the New Landscape of Development Assistance.
Professor Simon Hix, LSE Pro-Director for research, said: "I am delighted with the launch of the LSE-Fudan Research Centre on Global Public Policy. LSE has a strong relationship with Fudan University, one of our seven global institutional partners.
“The joint research centre provides an institutional platform for LSE and Fudan academics to look at major global challenges for public policy, and how governments and international organisations around the world can work together in tackling the big issues for the betterment of societies everywhere."
