About me

I am a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and the Deputy Head (Education). Before this, I studied at the University of Cambridge, did my PhD at LSE, and then went on to post-docs at the University of Warwick and the Universidade Sao Paulo (Brazil).

Research wise, I am part of the Discrete Mathematics group, specialising in probabilistic and extremal combinatorics. However I am interested in any nice problems which are somewhat related (and happy to listen to talks about anything remotely related).

At LSE, I have so far mainly been involved in MSc level teaching (and have been the Programme Director for the MSc Applicable Mathematics) but have also done some undergraduate teaching. If you are a student who likes to think about problems and doesn't mind that sometimes they will be hard and you will be stuck (just as I usually am with my own research problems), I hope you will enjoy taking my courses as much as I enjoy teaching motivated students.
